Meebo!

We're installing Meebo onto our site, which means that if you're a member of The Solid Spirit you can instant message your friends when you log in!

Note: We are still testing out this feature, so don't be alarmed if the toolbar suddenly disappears and reappears- we're just playing around with the settings.

Side Note: Currently we have the toolbar set so that you can instant message any TSS member. In the future, you will have to add them as a friend to your profile in order to instant message them (Just like you have to do on Facebook or Myspace).

The Solid Spirit

We are now TheSolidSpirit.com !!!

We are now officially the owners of the domain, TheSolidSpirit.com !!!!

This means that we're going to have many changes on our pages regarding the URL... if you ever have trouble logging in, it will be because of the URL change.

Make sure you type in TheSolidSpirit.com into your web browser when our old URLs don't work anymore.

We're getting bigger!

The Solid Spirit has really been growing a lot these past few months, and we are working on expanding our site into different sections.

You may have heard about our new URL for the Runaways page called http://Runaway.here.ws

We created this URL because eventually the Runaway page will become it's own site, dedicated with resources for Runaway children and teens all over the world.

We are also working on our educational pages, we will have very informative articles explaining the different kinds of abuse, and the best places to learn more about abuse.

Because of the ENORMOUS amount of resources on our Teen Resources Guide http://bit.ly/CrisisLinks we are going to segregate the different kinds of resources onto different web pages....

This leads me into announcing "TheSolidSpirit2"......

TSS2 is going to be a portal into this site, TSS1, and any other additional sites that we create.

TSS1 will be our "social network" where the chat, forums, and Twitter will all be located.

On TSS2 there will be links to every single web page owned by The Solid Spirit.

This includes our future projects- an expanded Plan For Action site, our Runaway site, and our future Bookshelf project.

You might be wondering, "How am I going to keep track of all of this??"

Don't worry! We are keeping the same domain name for all of our websites, http://TheSolidSpirit.official.ws

You will also be able to become a member to each website, so there will be a link on your Webs Profile.

You can subscribe to any site hosted by Webs.com with the WebsID that you have registered here. Just click "register" on any Webs site and select "I'm already registered!".

If you are totally confused, don't worry! The changes will happen slowly, and we will be sure to make everything as easy to use as possible.

For those of you who are new to The Solid Spirit, welcome!

Our site boasts many new exciting features.

You may have noticed our new modules on the left hand side featuring Members and such, this is a new feature that allows us to give you an easy way to navigate through all member areas.

Our chat rooms are in full operation, in order to access our chat room page you must be a site member. After registering you can log in and find a chat window to use, and also directions for using your own IRC client.

We own two chat rooms, The Solid Spirit for Abuse Support, and Self Injury for persons dealing with SI and Eating Disorders.

Our forums are open 24/7, find a topic you like or make your own!

We also feature a new "Report Site Trouble" form, so that visitors can report any technical trouble or site violations made by users of The Solid Spirit. This form contacts our staff immediately.

Please visit our rules and guidelines to familiarize yourself with our site's policies.

FORUM AND CHAT ROOM RULES

Please make the effort to abide by these guidelines, they are here for everybody.

Personal attacks of any kind will not be tolerated.

We expect all members to respect one another.

You may not ask for any personal information from another member. If they wish to share their personal or contact information, they can choose to display these things on their profile in both TSS Members Profiles and TSS Forums.

Remember, we are all here to support one another and not to judge.

Registering a Chat room nickname is recommended, but not required.

Nicknames may not be offensive, triggering, obscene, or in any way disruptive of the supportive environment we wish to uphold.

You may only have one user name on any and all areas of The Solid Spirit. This includes Forums, Profiles, and Chat.

Alters in a DID/MPD system may register separate accounts- one account is allowed for each alter or personality.

Do not p2p (person to person/ private message/ individual chat) another member in a chat room without their permission first. Moderators are permitted to contact any user via person-to-person or private chat at any time.

Talk about suicide is not permitted. If you are in need of crisis support, please call your local emergency number or find a crisis or hotline number on our Teen Resources page.

If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or hotline immediately. We want you to be safe!

Under no circumstances will our site be used for research, queries, surveys, reports, homework projects, or any other harvesting of information. Our site is a community of support, not a study.

Please "spoil" triggering words. We have filters in our forums that will block triggering words, but in chat please be sure to spoil any words that may trigger other people.

This is a "spoiler": ab*s*, s*x, b**t.

Pornography will not be tolerated anywhere and will result in an immediate one month ban, and possible permanent ban.

There are no professional counselors, therapists, psychiatrists or doctors on our site. The site staff is composed of volunteers and persons with technical skills to operate a website.

Members of The Solid Spirit are not allowed to practice medicine, therapeutic, or any other professional skills whether or not they are a professional doctor, therapist, counselor, social worker, or trained specialist anywhere on this site!

This is to keep the safety of EVERYONE so that nobody is harmed, tricked, or otherwise "ill advised".
